Welcome to Thomas Telford Publishing’s information page for librarians and information scientists. Announcements on new subscription services and changes to the existing service will be made here.
Online Access
Our editorial team understands the need for fast and accurate on-line research. That is why we’re working hard to provide easier access to more papers. Your feedback and our commitment to the initiatives below will help us achieve this.
We are now working with Atypon Ltd to provide much improved access to your journals. There are several benefits to this partnership, including:
- full access statistics for your journals
- new online packages, incorporating the ICE Proceedings archive 1836-2008
- IP access to full text for subscribers
- improved levels of customer service
- extensive cross-journal searches and links
- easier document searches
- linked references through CrossRef
Whether you are an institutional or personal customer, we offer free online access to your journal subscriptions. All you need to do in order to activate this is contact us at journals@thomastelford.com quoting REF: OAA in the subject line, and we'll take you through the process step by step.
Once you have been registered, you will receive an email from Atypon Ltd. confirming your username and password. You'll need to use this to gain free access when you visit the journal home pages.
The journals are hosted on this, the main Thomas Telford site, and on the Atypon site at www.atypon-link.com.

Administrating your library
If you are the librarian of an institution, you can set yourself up as the librarian administrator. As a librarian administrator, you can:
- View subscription information
- View the IP-address ranges for the institution
- Download usage statistics
To set yourself up as the librarian administrator, you need the Customer Number that you received with the subscription notification. If you do not have that number, click here to request it. In the Help form that opens, indicate that you did not receive your Customer Number. Be sure to include the name of the publisher and/or the journals of the subscription(s) to which you will be administering.
When you have the Customer Number, complete the following steps:
- Go to the Atypon Link Activation page for librarians.
- Log in if necessary (if you are not yet registered, register first–when your registration is completed, you will be logged in automatically).
- Enter the Customer Number into the text box and click the Activate button.

E-mail Alerts
