Setting up online access

We work in partnership with Atypon Link to control access to your journal. All abstracts are available free on this site, but to view full text you must have a current subscription.

Institutions: To gain full access for you institution, you must complete our standard licence agreement, and return a signed copy to Thomas Telford (by post please). On receipt of the form, we will set you up with IP based access. Ordinarily this will take seven days.

Library super users, have the ability to set users up with remote access, as well as IP access for the local network, and to register to receive usage statistics for their organisation. To register as a super user, please complete the library super user form, and return it to Extenza (contact details on the form). Please note, you must have completed our licence agreement and have IP access enabled, before you can register as a super user.

Individuals: To set you up with online access, we need your current email address. Please send this, together with your name as it appears on your journal label, and your subscriber number (which is also printed on your journal label) to our Customer Services officer.

Ordinarily we will set up your account within seven days, however you need only do this once. As soon as your details are on our system, you will receive a confirmation email on our behalf from Atypon, giving you your access details – a user name and password that can be updated by you.

Continue to view your journals at this site. As soon as you try to view a full text paper you will be prompted for your user name and password.

If you need further help with online access, please contact the Atypon Link help desk.

How to use this site

Searches: Abstracts of papers published in our journals for the current year and the preceding 3 years are held on this site and can be viewed free of charge. Users can use the main search function to search by author, title or any word contained within the abstract. The quick search will run [AND] searches against any word in a papers title or abstract, or against any author.

Current contents: Contents of current and forthcoming issues are published online up to a week prior to print publication.

Viewing papers in full: Full text is available online using Adobe’s Acrobat Reader software. Click here to  download a free copy of the Acrobat Reader if it is not already installed on your PC.

Subscribers to our journals can read full text versions of our papers free of charge. Papers can be read on a pay per view basis by non subscribers. We also have free sample issues available in full for each journal for anybody to view.
